Total so far: $2759
Goal: $5000
Donors: 134 (Thanks!)
At the recent Potlatch literary convention, the Clarion West Writers Workshop generously auctioned a few items donated to The Infinite Matrix by Vonda McIntyre, Joe Haldeman, Richard Kadrey, Jessica Salmonson, and Ellen Klages. The $392 from that auction is now accounted for, and I've added it to our fundraising total, bringing us up over $2600. Much thanks to both the donors and the purchasers for their support.
To celebrate being more than halfway to our goal of $5000, I'm posting Ben Rosenbaum's new story, The Death Trap of Dr. Nefario.
I'm also resuming the regular publication of the zine: in time of war, we need good blogs and good fiction.
We're definitely not out of the woods yet. So, if you haven't donated, please consider doing so. Even a dollar will help: I need to show potential sponsors that readers care about the site enough to contribute.
Why I need money: I pay my contributors. I pay my webmaster. I don't pay myself, but I cannot afford to put money in.
Donations via the Amazon Honor System are completely anonymous, so if you're embarrassed about not being able to toss in a fifty, that's the way to go. There is no service charge to you for either Amazon or PayPal. Thanks for any contribution you can make. Eileen
Eileen Gunn is the editor and publisher of The Infinite Matrix. She also writes short stories, two of which have been nominated for the Hugo award. Her cryptic and hard-to-navigate personal site, Imaginary Friends, was a Cool Site of the Day way back in 1997.
